Dorset Construction is a small, yet skilled team of professionals, dedicated to delivering exceptional results. We like to create a positive environment, which benefits our builders and clients. Led by Adam Pierson, our team of builders is big enough to handle any residential job, yet small enough to be involved in every detail of your project.
Adam started Dorset Construction in Wellington in 2015. The company has established a reputation for its technical expertise across architectural work, new builds and renovations.
In 2021 Adam opened the Mount Maunganui branch of Dorset Construction, which services the Greater Tauranga area, when he relocated to the Bay of Plenty region to enjoy a lifestyle change with his family. He has an experienced team of talented builders that supports Mount Maunganui.

Collectively, we have decades of building and project management experience in New Zealand and overseas. We are Licensed Building Practitioners, and our team is highly skilled at detailed architectural work.
We also value trust, honesty and communication, and we work hard to build good relationships with our clients. Rest assured we will be transparent and keep you fully informed throughout the process.
BESPOKE BUILDS
Our team are adept at working on complex sites, and we welcome new challenges. We are also one of the few building companies in New Zealand proficient at in-situ concrete - a difficult and highly-skilled method where the concrete is poured into its final position rather than precast.
The in-situ concrete method is sought after by clients and architects because it provides flexible design options, promotes the structural qualities of the concrete and achieves an authentic finish.
We’re proud to have had our work recognised as among the best in the industry. The awards are presented to the talented architects who design the exceptional homes we build. Our commitment to quality construction and clear communication is a key part of a successful project.
Our 10x10 House, created in collaboration with Patchwork Architecture, has received significant recognition, including winning the Housing category at the New Zealand Architecture Awards. Judges described it as an “inspirational, functional and hugely enjoyable family home.”
We've been working with Dorset Construction since 2015. In that time they've built four beautifully crafted, award-winning homes for us with more on the way.
